7/19 Smackdown *Spoilers*

This week’s episode of WWE Smackdown was taped at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The show will air in the US on Friday.

WWE SmackDown

– Teddy Long opens the show in the ring. He announces that Vince McMahon is in the building, and he’ll be giving him a job evaluation. He asks if the crowd thinks he should be the permanent GM, to which the crowd responds positively

– Booker T’s music hit and he makes his return to Smackdown, saying that he will resume his Smackdown GM duties effective immediately. Then out comes Vince McMahon, who says there can only be one GM. He asks what they have to offer for the WWE Universe tonight. Teddy announced that he’s booked Curtis Axel vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title. Booker T announced that he’s booked Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton.

– Out comes Brad Maddox, who announces the Smackdown return of Rob Van Dam, who received a huge pop just at the sound of his name. McMahon teases all three men, then introduces Vickie Guerrero as the new Smackdown General Manager. “No!” chants ring out from the crowd. Vickie cut a promo about how she’s back and she hates the WWE Universe. “Nuclear heat.”

(1) Dolph Ziggler def. Jack Swagger (w/Antonio Cesaro and Zeb Colter) via Pinfall. Ziggler wins after hitting the Zig-Zag. Cesaro and Colter were sent backstage after Cesaro pulled Ziggler off the apron into his European Uppercut. After the match, Ziggler cuts a quick promo about dumping AJ. He said he should’ve done it sooner. Good response for the Show Off.

– Backstage, AJ Lee is shown watching the Ziggler match/promo with Big E and went nuts. She beats up a chair and attacks Big E. He then hugs her and acts like he’s going to kiss her when he pulls away and kisses her on the forehead.
