That could buy some serious sheet music. Wrestling is changing like it hasn’t done in years as of late and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. For the first time since the Attitude Era, wrestlers are jumping from one promotion to another and it is something that is working for the better. Wrestlers now have a lot more choices in where they wind up performing, though WWE is still a viable option, including for someone with a unique role.

There are a lot of wrestlers all over the WWE rosters and that means they need something to do. Unfortunately there is not enough room to have them all in the ring, and it turns out that some of them are better utilized doing something else. That would include Elias, who mainly exists to sing funny songs and mock other wrestlers. It isn’t something everyone can do and WWE certainly seems to know this.

During this week’s edition of WWE Backstage, Ryan Satin announced that Elias has re-signed with WWE on a multi-year deal. There is no word on how long the contract is for or when it will begin, but most recent WWE deals have lasted for five years instead of the more traditional three year contracts. Elias has not wrestled frequently as of late as he has mainly been used for his songs since returning from an ankle injury.

Elias knows how to do his thing. Check out some of his recent offerings:

Opinion: Elias is the kind of person who can stick around for years and it makes a lot of sense for WWE to put him out there every week. He can do something no one else can pull off and Elias sells it very well. While he might not be the best in-ring performer in the world, he can do what matters a lot more: get people to care about him, which so many wrestlers just can’t do.

Are you glad Elias is sticking around? When will he wrestle again? Let us know in the comments below.
