RUMOR KILLER On Former Champion Making A WWE Return

Maybe not. A surprise return in a wrestling company can open up a lot of questions. In addition to wondering what is going to happen with the person who is freshly back, there is also the question of who else might be making a return. Such a return took place late last year and has led to speculation of another person coming back to WWE. Now though, it doesn’t seem to be happening.

CM Punk made his return to WWE after a near ten year absence in November 2023. This has led to speculation that his wife, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, could return as well. Recently, a rumor has been circulating that WWE is hoping to bring her back, but according to SEScoops, this is not the case. While Lee is said to be “well liked and respected”, she is not being discussed for a potential return at the moment. Lee last wrestled for WWE in 2015 at WrestleMania 31.

Opinion: I could go for Lee returning to WWE one day though it does not seem likely at the moment. It would be interesting to see her come back to the company in some kind of a role at some point and a cameo might be a possibility, though there is less of a point with Punk currently on the shelf. Lee was quite the star while she was around though and it is nice to see that she is still thought of so highly.
