They Did It??? King Corbin Gets The Most Unique Honor You’ll See In Wrestling For A Long Time

They pulled it off? There are a lot of wrestler in WWE today and very few of them are as controversial as King Corbin. While a lot of fans are sick of seeing him on television every single week, there are some fans who see him as one of the few wrestlers able to get genuine heat from the crowd these days. Both cases are true, but the star power he has managed to earn him a pretty special honor.

WWE has a lot of ways to get itself attention. It has its hands in all kinds of things and that can manage to get the company into a lot of places it might not be able to reach otherwise. That can make for some interesting advertising tools and some of them are pretty unique in the sports world. As it turns out, they might have found one of their most unique of all time over the weekend.

According to WKYT (Lexington, Kentucky), Corbin, Kentucky was officially named King Corbin, Kentucky for one day. The proclamation, made by the town’s mayor, renamed the city in honor of Corbin on Sunday, when WWE was in town for a live event. Corbin headlined the show in a loss against Roman Reigns, with a pre-match stipulation forcing him to eat dog food.

Opinion: That is the kind of thing that doesn’t mean anything in the long term but it is a cool moment and a fun little deal for Corbin. As someone who lives in Kentucky, I always think of Corbin’s name whenever I hear about the town so it’s a smart move for the sake of some publicity. WWE gets to have some fun and gives Corbin something else to crow about, which is all you can ask for.
