4. Nikki Bella Dumps John Cena
Or, it doesn’t have to be that complicated. Maybe for the first time, John Cena and Nikki Bella officially announce their relationship on WWE television. That would blur the line into Cena’s true personal life. Given Bella’s recent status as one of the top heels in the company, this would provide a lot of intrigue for Cena.
What if on Raw this week, Ziggler turns heel and attacks Cena instead of accepting the US Open Challenge. Bella comes out to expose the relationship and stops Ziggler, but Cena has been hurt. At “Hell in a Cell”, Cena fight valiantly, but he is able to hold off Ziggler and win despite being hurt.
Either later that night, or the next night on Raw, John Cena is advertised to appear. He’s walking through the back and he’s holding the US title. It’s business as usual. Cena’s on his way out to the ring, but Nikki Bella catches up to him and says that they need to talk. Nikki Bella officially breaks up with him right there in the hallway. Cena drops the title and heads the other way. Just like that Cena is gone.
3. A Mystery Attack
Mystery attacks are always interesting because they create a lot of questions. Such as, who attacked him? Why did they attack him? How long is Cena out? Does Cena know who attacked him? By the time, the confrontation is upon us, there is so much intrigue. Who drove over Stone Cold with the car angle is a perfect example.
If a mystery attack befalls on John Cena and he’s taken out of action, there would be months of who it was until Cena returns and can go on a full investigation, or hunt to exact revenge. This angle would give John Cena something to chase and eventually lead to a match at Wrestlemania. That’s a fresh storyline for John Cena.
