In an article posted yesterday on WWE.com, the company took the rare step of shining light on an outside promotion by asking where wrestlers are honing their skills. To answer their own question, WWE responded:

In particular, the EVOLVE promotion, based out of New York and Florida, has emerged as a prime spot to catch future Superstars honing their craft before making the big time. Gabe Sapolsky, WWN Vice President of Talent Relations, knows that EVOLVE is more than capable of cranking out talent ready for the high-octane style of NXT, while providing fans with a guaranteed adrenaline rush.

While many view the WWE as a take-no-prisoners entity, it does have a track record of helping outside promotions. In the Paul Heyman documentary, a must-see for any wrestling fan, Heyman admits that Vince McMahon was a huge supporter of ECW.

Of all the independent wrestling organizations, why the push for EVOLVE? It appears that a relationship has sprouted between WWE and EVOLVE. Wrestle Zone posted a statement issued by EVOLVE WWN Live in regards to the story on WWE.com.

You have supported us and you deserve an answers. You want to know what’s going on with WWE and The WWN Family. This is the absolute truth. There are no answers. Yes, there is obviously a growing relationship. What direction it will take is unknown. There are rumors and speculation, but this relationship changes and develops almost weekly. This is a road that has never been traveled before. There is no precedent. We don’t know what to expect nor what is possible. All this means is that anything can happen. There are infinite possibilities. The only sure thing is that this will be a wild, unpredictable and thrilling ride. We will all find out where this road goes together. There is no telling what will happen next.

In the article on WWE.com, WWE plugged five wrestlers everyone “need[s] to know. They included: Timothy Thatcher, Johnny Gargano, “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams, Anthony Nese and Zack Sabre, Jr.
