Pick up sides. The WWE is a rather unique promotion in that it has so many wrestlers that it can run multiple different rosters without very much crossover. That is quite the luxury in many ways, but at the same time it can be a little bit limiting, given how the company may not be able to have all of its options available. Sometimes things need to be shake up a bit and that seems likely later this year.

Last October, SmackDown moved over to FOX in the biggest broadcasting deal that WWE has ever seen. The company suddenly had a level of distribution that they never had before and that meant something needed to be changed in a big way. One of WWE’s signature methods of doing this is with a Draft, and now that a year has passed, it seems to be time to do so again.

According to Fightful Select, WWE is planning another Draft in October as a way to shake up the Monday Night Raw and SmackDown rosters. The original plans called for the Draft to be held in August, when WWE had hoped to have limited fans back in attendance. When that fell through, the Draft was moved to September, then October, then back to September and now back to October again. There is no word on how the Draft will be formatted this year.

The Draft always offers some surprises. Check out how things have gone in the past:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE could certainly use, but at the same time it isn’t going to make that big of a difference if the talent is presented in the same way. WWE’s presentation has been so stagnant for such a long time now that they need some kind of a major shakeup for anything to really work. The Draft will help in the short term, but it is a small bandage on a gaping wound.

What are you expecting in the Draft? Who do you want to go where? Let us know in the comments below.
