Aha? The Royal Rumble is coming up in just over two weeks and that means the card is starting to take shape. There are already names filling in both lineups, with several more names waiting in the wings to be announced. Some names are already announced, though it seems that one of them might not wind up being in the match due to a little bit of trickery.
There are some wrestlers who have had some great success over the years in the Royal Rumble. Sometimes you have someone who is always a threat to win the whole thing and who has all kinds of success over the years. That is the case with a certain current Monday Night Raw star who has already announced his entrance into the Royal Rumble. However, that might not be the case.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Randy Orton’s entry into the Royal Rumble was meant as a red herring to throw fans off the idea that he will be facing the Fiend at the pay per view. Both Orton and the Fiend have been burned in recent weeks, with Fiend being kept off of television since Tables, Ladders And Chairs. Orton was burned during this week’s Monday Night Raw, with WWE announcing that he had suffered minor burns. No match has been announced between the two of them at the moment.
It has been a hot feud. Check out what has happened to the two of them of late:
Opinion: This might be a bit of a stretch as the idea of Orton vs. Fiend taking place again at the Royal Rumble was hardly impossible to imagine. Orton is always going to be a threat to win the Royal Rumble, but this year does not seem to be one where he needs to be in the match. He has bigger dealings with the Fiend and I don’t know how much of a surprise that match needed to be.
