What could have been. WWE has one of the deepest rosters in the world but there is always room for something more. No matter how good their wrestlers may be, WWE is always going to be trying to bolster things up even higher. It can help if a new wrestler might be able to help them tap into another market and that was almost the case with a pretty high profile international star.

One of the bigger wrestling problems during the Coronavirus pandemic has been the international travel restrictions which have prevented some stars from appearing in America. Some of these have been rather big names who have had to be held back, including multiple top Ring of Honor stars. This includes their World Champion, who almost had a rather different career path.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, WWE passed on signing current Ring of Honor World Champion Rush, as Rush’s asking price was too high. The deal was offered at some point in 2019 or 2020, with Mexican promotion AAA representing Rush in the negotiations. AAA felt the offer was too low, though it came at a time when WWE was offering lower contracts to almost all wrestlers.

They have good taste. Check out Rush in action:

Opinion: I can easily see why WWE was interested in Rush, as he has a natural charisma to him that you can feel as soon as he is in the arena. It is the kind of thing that WWE would want in their company as Rush has been a star everywhere he has gone. WWE may be able to get their hands on him later, as he would manage to stand out in NXT just as well as he has anywhere else.
