I guess they’re not fans of all the low blows. The big story of SmackDown Live of late has been Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles over the WWE Championship. Nakamura turned on Styles at WrestleMania 34 and became the top heel on the show. That allowed him to become more of a natural villain, but the question was how the fans would respond. The shows are starting to calm down after all those weeks of being on a roller coaster so how did this week’s show react to Nakamura?

Miss this week’s show? Here are some quick highlights.

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of SmackDown Live drew a .77 rating in the 18-34 demographic and 2.436 million viewers. These numbers are both down 4% from last week’s .8 demographic rating and 2.549 million viewers. This week’s show was the fallout show from the Greatest Royal Rumble and the go home show for this Sunday’s Backlash pay per view. The show was headlined by a six woman tag match featuring Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Asuka teaming up to face the Iconics and Carmella.

Opinion: As we finish up the post-WrestleMania season, things are going to start slowing down a little bit. That happens every single year and there’s no surprise to it. The question now is how the fans will react to Styles vs. Nakamura continuing and everything else the show has to offer. There’s a lot to be seen on SmackDown Live at the moment, but I think some of the fans could go for a breather from everything WWE has been doing of late. Maybe the numbers will bounce back up, but at least they haven’t gone down too far.
