He did it. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster these days and several of them are going to make some kind of an impression on the fans. Some of them are going to make fans see something specific in them, which could be either a positive or a negative. Wrestling fans have an ability to see such things in wrestlers, and now the perspective of one of them might be changing.
King Corbin is one of the more controversial wrestlers in WWE. Corbin certainly has talent but has been pushed on television at a rather high level over the years. This reached the point where WWE even blamed Corbin’s on-screen presence for their television audience going away. Corbin is starting to find his niche though, and now he has done something that might raise his WWE profile a bit.
According to Fightful Select, Corbin was asked to work as a replacement on the January 22 SmackDown taping as a replacement for various wrestlers out of action due to the Coronavirus. This change caused some adjustments to the angles on the show, including Corbin’s feud with the Mysterios being started again. It is not clear who Corbin replaced or what the original plans for the show would have been.

Opinion: I haven’t been the biggest Corbin fan for a long time now but it does say a lot that WWE sees him as the best option for a replacement. That suggests that they have a lot of confidence in him, which is quite the responsibility in WWE. Corbin might not be everyone’s favorite name in WWE but he certainly has caught their eye in some way and that is not the worst thing.
