It’s the next logical step. There are all kinds of ways to tell a story in WWE but one of the best is to build up a feud between two people and have the level of matches increase along the way. What might start off with a regular match could increase up to the next level in a rematch and then move forward from there. That seems to be the case with a current SmackDown feud.
With WrestleMania 37 fast approaching, WWE stars are trying their best to get themselves in the right positions. This can be done in more than a few ways, but one of the more logical paths is through Fastlane on March 21. That show could make for some interesting matches, but now we might know the path that a pair of SmackDown stars will be taking to get to the show.
WWE has announced that Daniel Bryan will face Jey Uso in a steel cage match next week on SmackDown. If Bryan wins, he gets a Universal Title shot against Roman Reigns at Fastlane but if Uso wins, Bryan has to acknowledge Reigns as the Head of the Table. This will be a rematch from this week’s SmackDown, where Bryan vs. Uso went to a double countout. Only Bryan’s title shot was on the line in that match.
It worked once. Check out the match and how the rematch was set up on Talking Smack:
Opinion: That’s how it should be as they are doing a nice job of building up Bryan vs. Reigns for Fastlane. In theory that is where this goes and it should be a nice way to get everything to WrestleMania. I’m not sure if it is going to build towards Edge vs. Reigns, but at least we are all but guaranteed one well set up match. The story has worked well, so just make the match to go with it.
