CM PUNK / PAUL HEYMAN segment: MARKED OUT!
Classic. This segment was SO fantastic that will probably stand as my favorite part of the night. Heyman and Punk were flawless. Excited to see how long and where this storyline goes this summer.
CM PUNK def. DARREN YOUNG: MARKED OUT!
A really good match with Darren Young here. Someone must have put Young on “legend difficulty,” because this match lasted like 20 minutes. Young is usually squash-able in 3, so I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
MARK HENRY promo: MARKED OUT!
Henry is so money. He has progressed into one of the BEST heels in the business. I’m hoping that they’ll keep him high on the card for a good run, as he deserves some time as one of the top heels in the WWE to be around the WWE title.
DANIEL BRYAN def. RANDY ORTON via Submission: MARKED OUT!
PPV quality match we’ve been waiting for between these 2. Orton did an AMAZING job of bringing out the epic talent that sometimes sits dormant inside of him. Charleston was SO hot for both of these guys, and this match was definitely one that will be remembered in the “Best of RAW and Smackdown: 2013” retrospective that will be released next year.
RAW 06/24/13 OVERALL: MARKED OUT!
This week definitely wasn’t as good as the June 17th episode, but it was still enjoyable. Were there plenty of “yawn” moments…yes, but overall, Monday Night Raw provided some great matches and some epic promos from Punk, Heyman, and Henry. As the Money in the Bank PPV gets closer, I can only hope that we continue to get better programs and hype for the event.
At some point we should see all 7 men that will be in each ladder match confront each other, there should be more interaction between The Shield and The Usos, and I swear…there HAS to be some physicality between Cena and Henry before their title match. If they want people to care about this feud, and create reasonable doubt that Henry could actually win the championship, then they HAVE to have them get physical with each other prior to the PPV.
Let’s hope next week’s RAW is baller, agreed? Agreed.
