It’s clear that Rusev will be spending time out of the ring due to his shoulder injury. Now what is the fate of his in-ring manager–and out of ring wife–Lana for the time he is out of commission, which could be a couple of months?

The word is that she might be spending time within NXT in his absence, where she would join a women’s division dominated by Asuka, but gives her ample time to shine without him there. However, she wants to make it evident that whether she does or not, it is because she is making the conscious choice to do so and is not being coerced into doing anything.

Most likely we’ll see her make the move down, and this is just posturing to make it look like this is 100% her decision to do so. Given Rusev and her rise as of late, it would be folly not to continue to be in the limelight at this point.

However, anything can happen, and she may choose to stay on the sidelines with her ailing husband. We’ll certainly know in the coming week or two, based on how WWE starts working NXT story lines and her own appearances, whether she is making that choice or not.
