It’s a dream for us too. Shinsuke Nakamura made his WWE debut about a year ago at “Takeover: Dallas”. Since then he has become the top star in NXT and one of the biggest stars the promotion has ever seen. Like any other NXT star though, it’s clear that he’s not going to be around there for long, which means it’s time to ask some interesting questions.

Nakamura was recently part of a conference call on a variety of questions about both NXT and the main roster. Transcription courtesy of sportskeeda.com.

On his “Wrestlemania XXXIII” dream opponent:

“I want to face AJ Styles again.”

On whether NXT has helped him develop as a wrestler:

“Lot of people ask me this question. So, NXT is not just developmental; it is the third brand. Raw, SmackDown, then NXT. NXT does not only have young talent, but it also has me, Bobby Roode. Before this, there were experienced wrestlers like Finn Balor and Samoa Joe. It’s a mix. We’re trying to change WWE’s wrestling style.”

Would he prefer “Monday Night Raw” or “Smackdown Live”?

“Either brand is okay. Raw has Joe, Finn. So much NXT talent that it’s comfortable for me. SmackDown has AJ Styles, Randy Orton, John Cena. I want to wrestle all of them. So either!”

How does he think his year has been and what does he want to do next?

“I still think I could do more. I’ve done a good job this year, but I still want to go to the next WrestleMania. Before WrestleMania, there’s Takeover, and I need to prove myself again. Then, I want to go up as soon as possible.”

If he led a WWE Bullet Club, who would he include?

“I want to see a new movement like the Bullet Club. I would want to see Karl Anderson in the group. He is one of my best friends.”

Opinion: I don’t think it’s any secret that Nakamura is main roster bound in the very near future. There’s nothing left for him to do down in NXT and I don’t think anyone would take issue with him facing Styles in after their classic at “Wrestlemania Kingdom X”. It’s going to be fun to see what happens to him and you have to imagine it’s going to be around Wrestlemania season.
