Mick Foley is a master of getting sympathy out of the WWE Universe. A few weeks ago, Foley described Stephanie McMahon, who the WWE Universe knows and loves, that he will always remember her as the girl with the smile after he came out of his infamous “Hell in a Cell” match back in 1998 against The Undertaker.
He’s the fool that must believe that is the true Stephanie, but it’s becoming more clear by the week that he is being manipulated by a grader plan by “that girl” and Triple H.
It’s a fantastic story for him because he’s been chewing on that scenery for weeks and we didn’t even know it yet. A lot of things became clearer this week with Stephanie blaming him and yelling at him on Raw.
The thing is Stephanie was right. It was Foley’s job to keep Raw under control, but where was he? Foley was tending to Cesaro and taking care of his superstars because he’s the good guy.
That sympathy and the pity that the WWE Universe will have on him is he’s the WWE Hall of Famer being used and manipulated as a puppet of The Authority.
The long-term of this storyline could see him figure out the greater scheme, declare war on The Authority, and head to SmackDown. WWE could be doing something very interesting with Mick Foley. We just have to wait and see.
How do you think Mick Foley is doing with the role of Raw’s General Manager?
