Are We Actually Going to See AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels?

It’s a dream match. On paper, AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels is as perfect as a match can be. Let’s just put two of the best workers of all time in the ring together on a huge stage and see what happens. It would be epic and an industry changing match.

The Heartbreak Kid versus The Phenomenal One is an amazing idea, but there are so many obstacles in the way of it becoming a reality. The biggest one is the fact that HBK is officially retired and very adamant about staying that way out of respect.

However, there have been a lot of rumors about the possibility of Michaels vs. Styles actually happening at the “Royal Rumble” next year in San Antonio. Styles has been teasing the match, and the rumor mill continues to talk about it hoping for it to be real.

Unfortunately, Shawn Michaels is standing firm on his retirement and a potential match between the two seems to be dead. Not to mention that HBK hasn’t wrestled a match in almost seven years, so his body may not even be able to handle a match.
