Jerry Lynn was a former ECW Champion and had an unbelievable match with Rob Van Dam during his time in ECW. After WWE had purchased ECW, Jerry Lynn was a natural pick to be brought over to WWE.

In April of 2001, Lynn made his debut on Sunday Night Heat. He issued a challenge to champion Crash Holly. It was accepted, and Lynn rolled up Holly with a handful of tights and captured the Light Heavyweight title in his first match.

Unfortunately for Lynn, this was the biggest moment he would have in WWE. Lynn eventually lost the Light Heavyweight title to Jeff Hardy and floated around quite a bit, until his release in February 2002.
