They just keep on coming. There is so much news going on in WWE at the moment that it is almost impossible to keep track of everything. From the company announcing that it is running live television again to the state of Florida designating it an essential business and all points in between, there is a lot going on. That was cranked up to another level on Wednesday and it is still going.
Throughout Wednesday, WWE has released over two dozen names, including wrestlers, producers, plus a referee and announcer. There seems to be no one who is immune to the releases as the company is doing everything that they can to lower their costs. Those cuts are still not over and WWE has confirmed another batch of releases, with some surprising names included this time around.
WWE has released another nine names, including the following:
Rowan
Sarah Logan
Primo
Epico
Mike Kanellis
Maria Kanellis
Zack Ryder
No Way Jose
Referee Mike Chioda
Several of these names have appeared on television recently, including Logan, who wrestled on this week’s Monday Night Raw. Rowan wrapped up a storyline last month involving the contents of his cage. The Kanellises have been attempting to try and get out of their contracts for several months now, though Maria is currently out of action due to maternity leave. There is no word on how many more releases will be coming.
There were a lot of names involved. Check out some of their work:
Opinion: Dang these things just keep coming and it’s kind of amazing to see how much house WWE is cleaning. It’s a shame that so many people are losing their jobs, but at the same time, WWE can only keep so many people around for so long with nothing for them to do. Several of these names have done nothing for months now and I can understand why WWE would let them go. It is sad to see, but it is something that makes sense from WWE’s perspective.
Which of these releases surprises you the most? Who else do you expect to be released? Let us know in the comments below.
