The first of many? There is only so much room on the WWE roster and that has become more and more clear every single week. At the end of the day, you can only put so many people on television or on live events every night before you simply run out of room. That is the case almost every week and now the company has had to do something to slowly eliminate some names.

Earlier today, WWE announced that they would be releasing some talents for the sake of cutting some costs. With the company bringing in no money from live events or ticket sales due to the spread of the Coronavirus, something had to be done to lower the costs. WWE made it clear that that cuts were coming in a hurry and now we know the first group of names who are leaving.

WWE.com has announced ten wrestlers who have been released. So far, WWE has released the following wrestlers:

Drake Maverick
Curt Hawkins
Karl Anderson
Luke Gallows
Heath Slater
Eric Young
EC3
Lio Rush
Kurt Angle
Aiden English

The list has been updated several times already and several names have been added since the initial list was published. Maverick was scheduled to be part of the upcoming tournament to crown a new Interim Cruiserweight Champion. There is no word on who, if anyone, will be replacing him.

That’s a lot of names being gone in a hurry. Check out some of the wrestlers in action:

Opinion: I knew they were coming but I didn’t think they were coming that fast. Anderson and Gallows are by far the biggest surprises here as most of the others have not appeared as of late and it isn’t shocking to see them gone. It isn’t great for their careers, but at the end of the day they were hardly doing anything in WWE anyway. I would expect more to be gone, but these are coming in rather fast at the moment.

Which of these names surprises you most? Who else do you see being releases? Let us know in the comments below.
