Consider it a silver lining. Wrestling is not the same as it was just a week to ten days ago, when the Coronavirus really began to spread around the United States. Things went from a bit nervous to complete insanity, with the wrestling world being taken down with it. As a result, it has become rare for WWE to find any good news, but they might have something to look forward to in the future.

One of the most ambitious things that WWE has been doing over the last few years has involved their international expansion. WWE has expanded to new markets and let their influence grow, including the addition of NXT UK to get their foothold in Europe. They still have their eyes set on other goals though, and now one of them may be easier to attain than before.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s plans to start and NXT Japan have become stronger in recent weeks, as the Japanese wrestling market has been damaged by the Coronavirus. The major Japanese promotions have been forced to cancel several shows and some smaller organizations such as Wrestle-1 have gone out of business entirely. This could allow WWE to get into the market more easily when the situation returns to normal, as WWE would have less competition.

WWE has a presence in Japan. Check out how things go when they head to the country:

Opinion: This could be a big deal for WWE in the future, as they have been doing a good job of expanding their footprint around the world. They are able to show up in another country and make a big splash in a hurry. Having the WWE name attached to a new promotion is going to help make the company seem important in a hurry and it is one of the best weapons that WWE has in a move like this.
