Shake it up again. There are a lot of different ways to group the wrestlers currently under the WWE banner. The current system sees the main roster divided up between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown talent with NXT as the third developmental brand. That makes for some interesting combinations, and we are soon going to be seeing a brand new set of wrestlers on each show.
Last year, WWE held its annual Draft to set up the Monday Night Raw and SmackDown rosters as SmackDown moved over to FOX. It was a great way to set things up going forward and that can change the way all three shows look. After a while the rosters start to feel stale though and something needs to be changed. Now we know a bit more about this year’s upcoming changes.
During this week’s conference call for NXT Takeover: XXX, WWE COO Triple H confirmed that the 2020 Draft will be taking place at some point this year. It is not clear when the Draft will be taking place, but it has been rumored to be taking place this October. In previous years, the Draft has taken place on both main roster shows, with NXT wrestlers being called up rather than wrestlers being sent down.
The Draft has had some big moments over the years. Check out the big stuff that has gone down:
Opinion: This is something that WWE needs at the moment as the company needs something fresh, just for the sake of shaking things up a bit. The shows are running out of feuds to run so giving the wrestlers someone new to face is one of the best things that can be done. If nothing else, just throwing something new out there can give the shows a better feeling and that is very long overdue.
