Just one week. Back in October 2019, WWE moved SmackDown over to FOX, turning it into the biggest professional wrestling show in the world. Just being able to be on that kind of a broadcast network means all kinds of positive things for WWE, with the huge audience being near the top. At the same time though, there are a few negative parts that can hold things back down, which will be on display next week.
One of the major perks of being on FOX is WWE gets to associate itself with various other major sports. FOX airs Major League Baseball and the NFL, which puts WWE in some pretty elite company. FOX airs quite a few different sports, and that means they are going to take up some time. WWE has not been around very long though, and that means they are going to get bumped from time to time, like next week.
This week on SmackDown, WWE announced that the December 18 edition of SmackDown will air on FOX Sports 1 rather than on FOX due to the PAC-12 championship game airing in its place. In addition, a special edition of Talking Smack will air on FOX Sports 1 after SmackDown. This will be the final edition of SmackDown before Tables, Ladders And Chairs on the following Sunday.
They have some following up to do. Check out what happened on this week’s show:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to cause some issues for WWE but at the same time, you can’t take the good without the bad. WWE getting to air its show on FOX is the kind of thing that they have been trying to do for years now, so you it’s hard to complain that much about something like this. Hopefully WWE does well that night, because they have to build towards the pay per view.
