WATCH: Paul Heyman Might Be A Bit Delusional

Uh, about that. There are very few names in wrestling history who can talk on the same level as Paul Heyman. Over the years, Heyman has delivered some of the best promos that have been seen on a pretty consistent basis and that has made him one of the more entertaining stars in wrestling history. That does not mean he is always perfect though, and that might have been the case again this week.

WWE has a lot of programming available during the week and each of its shows have some sort of a purpose. Some of these might be a little more obvious than others, but Talking Smack’s purpose is fairly obvious. Not only is the show designed to be a recap of that week’s SmackDown, but it is also a place where Heyman is able to talk about various things and make whatever point is on his mind. This time might not have gone as well.

This is a different take on things. Check out what Heyman said this week:

Heyman and WWE official Adam Pearce appeared on this week’s Talking Smack, where Heyman discussed the idea of Pearce being fired. Should Pearce be fired, Heyman suggested that Pearce’s assistant Sonya Deville should take Pearce’s place. Heyman also said that Deville had “a mad crush” on him. Pearce shook his head, as Deville is the first openly lesbian wrestler in WWE history. Deville also responded on Twitter, seeming a bit confused.

Opinion: This is Heyman at some of his best, as the point here wasn’t about making sense. The only person that this kind of a statement needs to make sense to is the person speaking, because wrestling villains are supposed to be delusional a lot of the time. Heyman’s huge grin throughout the situation made it all the more perfect and that’s all it needed to be here in more of Heyman’s greatness.
