That’s a big one. We are on the Road To WrestleMania 37 and that means it is time to start getting ready for the biggest show of the year. So far it is not clear what we are going to be seeing over that weekend but there is still a lot of time to set things up. WWE is going to be able to get the show in line on the way there though and we might be seeing some of the shaping this week.

One of the biggest rivalries of 2020 was between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton over the WWE Title. Orton attacked various legends to get under McIntyre’s skin and then eventually took the title from him at Hell In A Cell. McIntyre regained it though and things seemed to be done, but it turns out that the feud is not quite done yet. Now we know what the next step will be.

WWE has announced a non-title match between Orton and McIntyre during this week’s Monday Night Raw. The match will be Orton and McIntyre’s first time facing off since McIntyre took the WWE Title back from Orton on the November 16, 2020 Monday Night Raw. This comes after Edge defeated Orton last week and faced off with McIntyre with the possibility of selecting him for the title match at WrestleMania 37.

They’ve done this a few times. Check out what the two of them have done before:

Drew McIntyre returns and Claymores Randy Orton: Raw, September 7, 2020

Randy Orton wins 14th World Title at WWE Hell in a Cell: Raw, Oct. 26, 2020

Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre – WWE Championship Match: Raw, Nov. 16, 2020

Opinion: This is a match that we have seen several times and while it has been a while since it has gone down, I’m not wild on just throwing out a pay per view main event level match. One of the reasons that there are so few pay per view matches that feel a little less important is you see them so often. I know there has to be something to draw in the fans, but this does not seem to be the most logical move.
