The fond farewell. There are a lot of people under the WWE umbrella and several of them have never gotten in the ring in a serious match. That does not mean they are worthless to the company though as there are several things to do in the company besides wrestle a match. There are also interviewers, hosts, commentators, broadcasters and more. Every now and then you see one person in every role at once, and one of those people is leaving WWE.

Back in July 2015, the Women’s Revolution changed the way wrestling worked in WWE for good. There was suddenly a new way of presenting women in wrestling and it was a great thing to see. Women’s wrestling went on to become one of the biggest and more important part of WWE, but there was more to it than just in the ring. Something else would change a few years later and it would be a huge deal in its own right. The person involved in that change is now taking her leave.

During Sunday’s Summerslam Kickoff Show, Renee Young confirmed that the event would be her last with WWE. Young has been with WWE since 2012 and in September 2018 became the first woman to be a main commentator on Monday Night Raw. This comes after Young was rumored to be leaving WWE earlier in the week. There is no word on where she will be going next.

It was a rather touching moment. Check out Young’s WWE farewell and some of her moments with the company:

Opinion: I’ve been a fan of Young’s for a long time so this is a bittersweet moment. On one hand, I’m sad that she’s leaving WWE but at the same time, it’s great to see her getting to go wherever she wants and getting to showcase her very deep talents. That isn’t something that everyone gets to do and if this is what makes her happy then that is certainly good for her.

What do you think of Young? Where will she wind up? Let us know in the comments below.
