Well it’s different. There are a lot of gimmick matches in wrestling and some of them have been done for decades now. You have your classics like a steel cage match, but you also have your more common versions such as a tables match or Last Man Standing. Now though, AEW is trying something new and it might not exactly be the most used idea in history.

Over the last few months, Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy have been involved in a pretty unique feud. A good chunk of their issues have been over Jericho’s jacket, which Cassidy soaked in orange juice. This led to Cassidy upsetting Jericho in a match, which meant that Jericho was going to be out for revenge. He will have a chance to get what he wants and in a way you have not seen before.

This was different. Check out how the challenge was laid down:

During this week’s AEW Dynamite, Jericho challenged Cassidy to a Mimosa Mayhem match at All Out. The match will see a tub of orange juice and A Little Bit of the Bubbly (Jericho’s champagne) at ringside. The match can be won by pinfall, submission or by dumping your opponent into the tub. Cassidy immediately accepted the match but was beaten down by Jericho and the Inner Circle. All Out takes place on September 5.

Opinion: You can’t say they’re rehashing old ideas here and the pinfall or submission aspect makes it more interesting. I can’t imagine Cassidy losing a match by such a humiliating manner as being dunked in the liquid, so it makes sense to give Jericho a chance to win by some other means. I’m curious about how this is going to go and I can give them points for trying something new.
