I never saw it coming. Summerslam has come and gone and that means WWE has finished up one of the biggest shows of the year. The show had some rather big matches and was built up well enough, but the main question was about the show’s tag line: “You’ll Never See It Coming.” It seemed that WWE had a surprise in store and now we know what they had planned.

There have been a lot of stories in WWE this year and the Coronavirus pandemic is at the top of the list. The virus has caused several changes to the way WWE works, but one of the underlying issues has been wrestlers not being willing to come to the shows due to health concerns. This is a rather fair complaint, but now one of them seems to have changed his mind.

It was a big return. Check out how things went down:

Sunday at Summerslam, the Fiend defeated Braun Strowman to win the Universal Title in the main event. After the match was over, Roman Reigns made his first appearance since March, attacking both the Fiend and Strowman and berating both of them. Reigns held up the Universal Title, which he had been scheduled to challenge for at WrestleMania 36, to end the show. There is no word on what changed for Reigns to make him willing to come back.

Opinion: My guess would be that the change in venue made a difference for Reigns. WWE has moved over to a major arena rather than the tiny Performance Center, so maybe the extra space was enough to convince him to return. WWE certainly needs the star power and Reigns is as big of a regular star as they have at the moment. Couple that with the new arena and maybe the television numbers can get a nice boost.

What did you think of the return? What do you want to see Reigns do? Let us know in the comments below.
