Sure why not. This Sunday, WWE is airing Payback for its second pay per view in seven days. That is quite the turnaround and WWE has had to fly through the build as fast as they can with this one. It hasn’t exactly made for the strongest build but you can’t say it has been dull. They have added another match to the card with just over a day to go and it might be a familiar one.
One of the more promising stories on SmackDown as of late has been Big E.’s singles push. As a long time member of New Day, Big E. has seemed ready for a push of his own for several years. While he had some singles success before the team began, it has been a long time since he has done things on his own. That has been different in recent weeks and now he is getting another chance.
WWE has announced that Big E. will face Sheamus at Payback. This is a rematch from the August 21 SmackDown when the two met in the opening match. However, the match took place soon after Retribution had been involved, meaning that the match taken place with the locker room surrounding the ring. Big E. previously defeated Sheamus with a rollup for the pin.
It worked the first time. Check out what set this up:
Opinion: It makes as much sense as anything else, but this might be better suited as a Kickoff Show match than on the main card. I’m not sure if the first match was good enough to warrant a pay per view rematch, or even a rematch at all, but I like both guys and could go for more of a Big E. push so maybe this isn’t the worse idea. Just go with what works and see what happens here.
What do you think of the match? Where do they both go from here? Let us know in the comments below.
