Send us a postcard. Like almost any form of entertainers, wrestlers can need a little breather every now and then. At some point the fans have just seen enough of them at the moment and it is time to let them sit down a bit. This can often lead to a much stronger reaction when they return, but a hiatus can also let the wrestler do something else, which seems to be the case here.

Last week on Dynamite, Cody was soundly defeated by Brodie Lee for the TNT Title. It was a completely one sided squash and a big surprise as Cody didn’t get in any offense. After the match was over, Lee and the Dark Order attacked Cody again, even knocking him off of his stretcher. It seemed to be a way to write Cody off of television and now we know a bit more about the situation.

According to PWInsider.com, Cody will be out of action for about a month as a result of the attack, meaning that he will miss next week’s All Out pay per view. Cody is out of action to film a television project, which is believed to be the upcoming wrestling television series Heels. There is no word on when the show will air or what Cody will be doing when he gets back to AEW television.

It was still a big surprise. Check out how Cody’s total destruction:

Opinion: This makes sense and well done on making something a little more interesting than the usual title change. Cody was massacred totally and completely, which is all you need out of the whole thing. It made Lee look a lot bigger than he was before and that’s what matters. If Cody has to go away, it makes sense to have someone get a rub off of it. And on top of that, Heels sounds cool.
