So much for that. We are less than five months removed from WrestleMania 36 and that means WWE should already have plans in place for WrestleMania 37. The show is about seven months away and that means it’s time to pick up the pace. The company can set the table early and they already seem to have an idea in mind. However, that means they can also change it up, which they seem to be doing.

One of the biggest matches from WrestleMania 36 was Edge vs. Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match. Edge defeated Orton but then lost in a rematch at Backlash. This was designed to set up an I Quit match at Summerslam but Edge tore his tricep, forcing him out of the match. WWE still wanted to run the match though and that may be what takes us to WrestleMania 37, or at least it was going to.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the I Quit match between Orton and Edge was scheduled to be the main event of WrestleMania 37, with the WWE Championship possibly being involved. Now though, there is no current match set for the main event slot of WrestleMania 37. Edge is expected to be back in the ring before the show and the match could still take place.

They have a history. Check out what the two have done before:

Opinion: Am I missing something about it or is Edge vs. Orton not exactly a match that isn’t big enough to run through two WrestleManias and headline one of them? It’s a match I could go for again, but for the next WrestleMania main event? That’s a big step and I’m not sure I want to see it on this stage. It was a big deal to see Edge return at the Royal Rumble but it would be cooler to see him face someone other than Orton after that match.
