The fields keep growing. We are well on the way to the Royal Rumble and the official start of the Road To WrestleMania 37. That means the bigger stars are going to start getting their names into the field for the show’s namesake matches and the more star power, the better things are going to get. There were already several new names added to the fields this week.
The Royal Rumble was changed dramatically in 2018 when the first ever women’s version was held. It was a long time overdue and put women on an equal playing field. A mixture of current stars, future stars and legends came together for the match and set up a great foundation for what was to come. The match is taking place again in 2021 and now we know another name.
Three more names were added to the Royal Rumble fields during this week’s Monday Night Raw, with two men and one woman being added. AJ Styles and Randy Orton both announced that they would be entering the match. Orton will have the chance to join Steve Austin as the only three time Royal Rumble winners. Also on the show, a video from WWE.com was aired showing Charlotte, last year’s Royal Rumble winner, announcing her entry into the women’s Royal Rumble.
Opinion: These are the kinds of entries that you need in the matches so there is little reason to complain. Styles and Orton are World Champion level stars and Charlotte is the most decorated woman in WWE history. It would be strange to not have these people involved and they help give the matches a good foundation to build on as we get closer to the pay per view.
