The international appeal. Wrestling is changing in a big way at the moment and that is a good thing in a lot of aspects. Above all else, AEW has been spreading throughout the wrestling world and that opens up a lot of doors for interesting ways to go. While WWE is the biggest company in the world, AEW wrestlers are becoming stars in their own right and another one appeared at a major show.

One of the best things that AEW has done is allow their wrestlers to appear for other promotions. It does not happen very often but when it does, things can get interesting in a hurry. If nothing else, it makes the wrestlers look all the most important and prominent around the world. That was the case again on Monday, as a major AEW star appeared outside the promotion.

I remember him. Check out a surprise AEW appearance at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 15:

Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, currently the IWGP United States Champion, made a surprise appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 15. Moxley appeared in a pre-taped video before Kenta defeated Satoshi Kojima to retain the #1 contendership to Moxley’s title. The promo featured Moxley in a ring in the New Japan Dojo in Los Angeles, saying that many people have come for the title and he will take out whoever comes for the title next.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes AEW look all the more important, as New Japan is still a bigger promotion than AEW so far. If nothing else, it is quite the thrill to see someone from another major promotion showing up on another show, even if it was a pre-taped segment. Maybe this helps AEW out as well, which is one of the perks of doing something like this on a big scale.
