Card subject to change. Brock Lesnar has been the Universal Champion for just shy of seventeen months now, which means it’s high time for someone to take the title from him. His last title defense was about two months ago, but things might be changing at Extreme Rules. Last week Monday Night Raw General Manager Kurt Angle announced a multi-man match for the #1 contendership with Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns being the first names added. That was last week though.

Make sure to check out our Monday Night Raw results to get all the details.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Lashley and Reigns were arguing about the upcoming match when Angle said that the match wouldn’t be taking place due to a contractual issue with Lesnar. At the moment there is no word on whether or not this is a legitimate issue or just a storyline, though the amount of discussion about the issue would suggest that the latter is more likely. There is no word on when Lesnar will appear or wrestle again, though Angle did make Reigns vs. Lashley for the pay per view in a singles match.

Here’s the announcement that got us here last week.

Kurt Angle reveals how Brock Lesnar's next challenger will be decided: Raw, June 18, 2018

Opinion: I’m not going to get upset at this just yet because there’s a very real chance that this part of a storyline or that any actual contractual issue (which I don’t buy in the first place) will be resolved. I was a bit surprised when they didn’t offer many specifics on the upcoming #1 contenders match last week and assuming this is all planned, that’s not the most surprising thing in the world. What I do know is we have less than three weeks to go before Extreme Rules and we don’t have anything major set on the Monday Night Raw side.

What do you think will be put in this match’s place? When will Lesnar wrestle again? Let us know in the comments below.
