Rumor: Local Advertisements Spoil Hell In A Cell Card?

They’re starting early this year. In September, WWE will air its annual Hell in a Cell pay per view. This is the show where no matter what is happening, we’ll be seeing something inside the Cell, which may or may not warrant something so big. Some of the matches do belong there, but they’re getting fewer and farther between. However, if a recent report is true, we might know some of the matches several months in advance.

According to KSAT.com (San Antonio news station) in an article promoting the on sale date for this year’s Hell in a Cell pay per view, two matches are set for the upcoming pay per view. Assuming these plans hold, at the moment two matches planned for the show are Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns and AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship. There is no word on if these matches would take place inside the Cell. As is always the case, these plans could change before September and might just be placeholder announcements instead of matches that will actually take place.

Opinion: Assuming these take place, this could be interesting, though Owens vs. Reigns feels like something we’ve seen several times now. Styles vs. Joe could be a lot of fun as they’ve had some excellent matches elsewhere before and Joe going after the title is one of the only places for him to go next. It wouldn’t surprise me if the matches don’t take place, but this is a little different than some wild rumor from “sources”.
