Welcome back? An injury is one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler at any given time as going onto the shelf is never a good thing. One of the few silver linings is the return though, as a wrestler getting to come back can lead to quite a moment if everything is handled right. WWE may be getting the chance to prove that in the near future, and in a bigger way than usual.

During this week’s SmackDown, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler defeated the Street Profits to become the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The win marked the first time that the Street Profits had not held a Tag Team Title in WWE in over ten months, as they had bee Raw Tag Team Champions at the time of their move to SmackDown. That is a long time to hold any title, and someone who interacted with them during their reign was interested in the change.

Following the title change, WWE’s Instagram account sent out an image of the new champions. Former Raw Tag Team Champion Ivar responded with three interested emojis. This could suggest that Ivar is getting closer to being ready to return to action following his neck injury in September. There is no word on when he will be back in the ring, or if the Viking Raiders will be moved over the SmackDown when Ivar returns.

Opinion: While I don’t think Ivar is ready to come back from such a serious injury so soon, it is nice to see that he is still paying attention to what is going on. This is the kind of thing that will have fans remembering that he is a thing, which is the kind of thing that you need when you are gone with this kind of an injury. Hopefully he is back soon, as the Viking Raiders are one of the better teams in WWE today.
