At least there’s a plan. NXT is one of the most unique wrestling promotions going today as it serves two roles. Not only is it its own regular television show but it is also the official WWE developmental territory. While that may sound like something that should have a pretty smooth transition, that has not exactly been the case for a lot of the callups. Now it turns out that things are a little confused again.

There are all kinds of talented people in NXT and it would make sense for WWE to want to bring some of them up to the main roster. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown could use the help and there are some NXT wrestlers who have gotten their attention. One in particular seems ready for the main roster, but WWE might have gotten a bit too anxious this time around.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE broke an agreement with NXT to provide months of warning before calling up a wrestler to the main roster. However, their recent plan to call Damian Priest up from NXT to SmackDown was put together in the span of a few days. Priest did not appear on last week’s SmackDown but there is still a chance that he could appear in the future.

They’re getting someone special. Check out what Priest can do in the ring:

Opinion: This seems to continue a bad trend for WWE, who does not seem to have things planned out very far in advance. That is quite the problem for the company and has been for a long time now. I would hope that they know how to put things together better than this but at the moment, there is nothing to suggest that they are able to put something together with any kind of long term planning.
