Huge Summerslam Angle Taking Place On Monday Night Raw *SPOILER*

You had to know they were going here. We are about a month away from Summerslam and that means the card is going to be built up in a hurry. WWE seems to know that they are running out of time though and the card is already being set up. At the same time, it helps to be filming some of the television shows in advance, as some of the stories can be set up early. That was the case this week.

There is no secret to the fact that one of the biggest matches taking place at Summerslam is probably going to be WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Randy Orton. There has not been anyone on Orton’s level in recent months and it makes all the sense in the world for the two top people on the show to face off at one of the biggest events of the year. Now we seem to be taking steps in that direction.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, an angle will take place on the July 27 Monday Night Raw which will set up the Orton vs. McIntyre match. While it is not known how the match will be set up, McIntyre is scheduled to defend his title against Dolph Ziggler on Monday Night Raw. Orton seemingly finished up his feud with Big Show on this week’s Monday Night Raw, defeating him in an unsanctioned match.

Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by this whatsoever and that’s not a bad thing. Orton vs. McIntyre sounds like the biggest match that the company can produce at the moment and they would be insane not to go in that direction. Why bother messing with something that makes so much sense and is really right in front of you like this? Summerslam is going to need a big main event and there is nothing bigger available right now. Go with what makes sense.
