That’s certainly one way to go. Lars Sullivan has been one of the most talked about wrestlers of this entire year. While he was originally planned to be involved in a big match with John Cena at WrestleMania 35, he wound up not debuting until the following night on Monday Night Raw. Then there was a huge uproar over some previous comments that he made online. Now he’s about to make his in-ring debut and WWE is already thinking about the future.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE may have plans to turn Sullivan face at some point in the future, with the plan possibly being to make him into a monster like Braun Strowman. The idea comes from Sullivan’s promo about being labeled a freak for most of his life and the fans rallying behind him and accepting him. There is no word on when this turn would take place.
Yeah picture this as a good guy. Check out Sullivan’s first ever in-ring promo from SmackDown Live:
Opinion: I don’t exactly see this going well. The story could work just fine with someone else, but asking fans to cheer for someone who had Sullivan’s baggage, especially in a story involving fans getting behind someone for how they were mistreated just because of how they look, comes off as a really bad idea. I’m sure WWE will try it, but the reaction does not seem to have the best prospects.
Could this idea work? Would you like Sullivan as a face? Let us know in the comments below.
