Well that’s a surprise. We are coming up on Survivor Series and that means things are going to be feeling more important day by day. The show has a stacked card with almost every champion in the company in action, often facing off against their counterpart from the other show. You don’t get to see something like that very often and now you aren’t even going to get to see what has been built up for weeks on end.
The Survivor Series card is built around the idea of Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown, which makes for some interesting showdowns. Most of these matches involve the shows’ resident champions facing off in non-title matches and that is what we are getting again this year. That being said, you never know what you might see on any given night in WWE and that was the case on Monday Night Raw.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton to become the new WWE Champion, winning the title for the second time. As a result, McIntyre will go on to face Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. That match was teased on last week’s SmackDown, when McIntyre came to the show and confronted Reigns, who told him to get a title and come face him.
Consider this seeds being planted. Check out the build to the match:
Opinion: Ok then. This is quite the surprise and in a good way. I’m glad to see them doing what they should have done and making the pay per view card that much better in one single night. Orton vs. Reigns was not exactly a thrilling proposal and after SmackDown, Reigns vs. McIntyre felt like a dream match in a hurry. It’s nice to see WWE going with the better choice and that is what we are going to get on Sunday.
