Not again. Back in January, Edge make a shocking return to the ring after a nine year absence from the ring. He had fought through all kinds of adversity and injuries to come back to the ring and it was an amazing story to behold. It was clear that his time was going to be limited though and now some of that time may have been cut short by a rather horrible injury.
The major selling point of this year’s Backlash was Edge vs. Randy Orton in what was billed as the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. That is some seriously high pressure and it might not have been the greatest idea in the world. There are so many great matches over the years and Edge and Orton are both closer to the end of their careers than the beginning. As it turns out, something took place when the match was taped to make things even harder.
According to F4WOnline.com, Edge suffered an injury during the match with Orton which may have been a torn tricep. If that is the case, the injury can require around eight months of recovery time after surgery. WWE has yet to comment on the injury as the match has not yet aired. There is no word on if Edge will attempt a comeback or will retire due to the injury.
Edge’s comeback has been a lot of fun. Check out how it has gone so far:
Opinion: Dang man that’s rough to hear. Edge is in a rare place as not many people make a comeback like this at 46 years old. He didn’t really have a chance to do anything else other than feud with Orton either and I’m hoping he gets to come back in time for either the Royal Rumble or even WrestleMania. Given his history with injuries though, it might be better to see him have one more big match and then walk away before he gets hurt all over again.
Should Edge retire? Who should he face in his last match? Let us know in the comments below.
