The more plans change. WWE has been shaken up in a big way this week with the firing of Paul Heyman as Executive Director of Monday Night Raw. Bruce Prichard will be taking Heyman’s place and that is going to mean several things at once. First and foremost, it means dropping or altering several of Heyman’s stories, one of which has been among the most prominent on the show.

One of the biggest stories on Monday Night Raw over the last few months has been Seth Rollins attacking Rey Mysterio. Rollins sent Mysterio’s eye into the steel steps, putting Mysterio on the shelf for the time being. Mysterio has since teased retiring from the ring, but his son Dominick wants to get involved. However this was a Heyman story, meaning things are up in the air.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan for Mysterio vs. Rollins was to incorporate Dominick’s in-ring debut. Heyman, the story’s architect, has since been removed from power though and it is not clear where the story will be going, or if it will still include Dominick. Mysterio and Dominick are scheduled to confront Rollins on next week’s Monday Night Raw.

It has some potential. Check out where the story has been going:

Opinion: I’m not sure on this one as the story hasn’t exactly been thrilling so far. The biggest problem is that the story has taken its time getting somewhere, with Rollins’ character not exactly being the most interesting. Dominick being added hasn’t really made it much better, but I would prefer to get to the planned finish and see where things can go rather than drastically changing it. Maybe that is for the better, but we’ll be finding out soon.
