Let the causalities begin. Much like several other businesses, wrestling is about having connections. You can be as talented as you want to be in WWE, but you have to get someone to notice you. Even John Cena was about to be released when Stephanie McMahon heard him rapping on a plane. That can be incredibly valuable, but now one big connection has been lost from WWE.

The big story of the week was a restructuring of WWE’s creative department, with Bruce Prichard being placed over the operation. Paul Heyman was fired from his position as Monday Night Raw Executive Director, and that means that things are going to be shaken up in a hurry on the red show. Some of Heyman’s projects and angles will be changed, but who in particular? One prominent name might already be in danger.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Apollo Crews’ push could be in jeopardy. Heyman’s strategy was to build towards the future while McMahon wanted to focus on the present. Crews, the reigning United States Champion, is considered a longer term prospect and might have his pushed stopped with Heyman out of power. Crews won the United States Title on the May 25 Monday Night Raw and will be defending it against Andrade at Backlash.

He’s a heck of an athlete. Check out Crews while you can:

Opinion: I get both sides of this, but someone has to do something with the United States Title. Andrade held the title for about five months and did almost nothing with it. I know Crews might not be the biggest success in the world so far but maybe he could be something in the future. You can’t know that if you keep cutting him off at the legs though, which is the case with far too many people. Maybe Crews can keep his chance going, but it doesn’t look good for now.

What do you think of Crews? How long will he hold the title? Let us know in the comments below.
