Fight Fyter with fire. AEW vs. NXT has turned into an interesting rivalry every week on Wednesday night. While neither show is drawing a huge audience, it is not surprising to see the numbers for both shows being compared. AEW has won more weeks than they have lost, but the gap has been closing. It is no surprise that AEW has some big shows planned, but it is even less of a surprise that NXT might have a counter ready.

Later this month, AEW will be presenting a pair of special events under the name Fyter Fest. The event was held last year as a free special and now it is coming back this year as a two week television broadcast. AEW has made a big deal out of announcing that all of the company’s titles will be on the line, all but guaranteeing that NXT will have something ready. Now we might know what that will be.

According to Wrestling Observer Live, NXT maybe counter programming Fyter Fest with a pair of title matches. These would include Finn Balor challenging Keith Lee for the North American Title and Adam Cole defending the NXT Title against Karrion Kross. Neither match has been confirmed but both were hinted at on this week’s NXT. Fyter Fest will take place on July 1 and July 8.

Both matches could be awesome. Check out how we got to them:

Opinion: You had to know this was coming and that’s not a bad thing. This could give us two very big nights of wrestling and that would be a heck of a treat. I know that this isn’t something that can be done every week but it is pretty cool to see it happen even once. Title changes mean a lot in wrestling and seeing any of the titles changing hands would be a big deal.
