The San Francisco Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-0 in the National League Wild Card round of the Major League Baseball playoffs Wednesday in Pittsburgh. And just as baseball has seemed to have a strong link to the wrestling world, it seems that link has only gotten stronger.

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence celebrated the win by leading his squad in former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan’s signature “Yes!” chant. Yahoo! Sports baseball columnist Jeff Passan posted video of the event.

This is not the first time the chant has been incorporated into mainstream sports. It was noted earlier this year the Pittsburgh Penguins were incorporating it into their playoff celebration. Bryan is scheduled to return to WWE sooner than people expect, and will most likely be ready for a big WrestleMania run once more.

Editor’s Note

Awesome. How can you not be romantic about baseball?
