Rusev may become United States Champion soon. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are still creative discussions being held behind-the-scenes regarding Rusev capturing the U.S. title from Sheamus following his program with Big Show.

The idea of placing Sheamus and Rusev in a feud makes sense to WWE. They want a good program for Rusev following his work with Big Show, and they want his reign as United States Champion to bring he and Lana even more heat. Sheamus has also teased a program with the big Bulgarian in interviews lately.

Big Show recently got “one-up” on Rusev during “Monday Night Raw,” where he ripped down the massive Russian flag that flies above the ring following Rusev in-ring segments. WWE had to issue a public apology for the incident however, following some “unwanted” backlash about the spot.

Many believe that WWE will continue to build up Big Show as a credible force that may actually have a chance at giving Rusev his first real loss at “Hell In A Cell.” He will then fall victim to the Bulgarian Brute, who is likely then going to set his Russian-sympathizing eyes on the gold that represents the country he despises, the United States Championship.

Editor’s Note:
Good. Put the U.S. title on Rusev, make him an absolute beast until an American FINALLY takes it away from him MONTHS later.
