WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has been in the rumor mill as of late, with some believing he may be interested in announcing for New Japan Pro Wrestling. A new rumor, however, suggests Ross may be looking into doing some a little more groundbreaking.
According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ross may be headed to Jeff Jarrett’s new Global Force Wrestling.
Dave Meltzer says Ross has had conversations with Jarrett’s people about possibly coming on board as the play-by-play man for the organization. Ross, who once served as the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations in WWE, has said many times he has no interest in getting into a management role in wrestling again, so it is unlikely he will be involved in that capacity.
The organization will present New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “WrestleKingdom” pay-per-view from the Tokyo Dome Jan. 4.
Ross’ contractual ties with WWE ended earlier this summer. He has since ventured into the world of boxing for FOX Sports, and will be announcing MMA in the near future alongside Chael Sonnen.
Editor’s Note
This would be a huge get that would add instant credibility for the organization. If Ross is ready to get back into the wrestling game, I say go for it.
