Bray Wyatt has been feuding with Randy Orton on SmackDown now for what feels like forever, including a de facto main event at No Mercy. Many have suggested that with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship being defended in the show’s opening match, the true main event should have been the Career vs Title match of Dolph Ziggler and the Miz. Orton and Wyatt were lost in the shuffle.
But for Bray Wyatt, that main event spot was well-deserved. “Me and Randy Orton are main event material,” he said in an interview with the Mirror. “You know, bottom line. We didn’t have a title match, it wasn’t a triple threat with no rules, we played by the rules and we put on a main event.”
He also commented on WWE World Champion AJ Styles, and going after the most historic prize in pro wrestling. He said he sees himself soon taking the title from Styles, or whoever else is holding it in the near future. “My time is coming,” he said. “I can just feel it in the air and I think WWE fans all around the world can just feel it in the air. My time is coming.”
On some of his biggest opponents, he said that among the likes of the Rock and John Cena, none have been as incredible as the Undertaker. Wyatt said “watching him walking down that aisle, that ramp, coming to the ring at WrestleMania, was one of the most breathtaking moments I’ve ever experienced. It was, it felt like you have travelled back in time to the Old West and you were about to square off in a gunfight with the baddest gunslinger in town. I think just the aura he brings, man, it’s never duplicated.”
One thing Wyatt is not so fond of–calling his in-ring persona a character. “That’s a huge misconception. There is no character man. I just am. I love it when people are like ‘your character, your character’. I just am.”
