The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update on Rey Mysterio’s WWE status. As previously reported, rumors claim that Mysterio may be done with WWE, and could be heading to AAA.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter goes into these rumors, expanding on what he’s heard from those behind the scenes in regards to whether or not Mysterio is on his way out or not. He writes,
“…regarding Mysterio. We’re told everything is being kept quiet from both sides. There was a script put together for Mysterio to do a storyline that was going to start at Survivor Series and climax at WrestleMania, and then the feeling was he would leave the company at that point.
But that storyline has been dropped and right now there are no plans for him to be brought back in the sense people have been told not to worry about coming up with anything for him.”
Meltzer referenced two stories that we’ve previously reported. One being that McMahon wanted Mysterio back on TV for one last run before leaving the company, but that didn’t come to be and creative has been told to stop worrying about it. The other being that Mysterio may be done completely.
Chavo Guerrero recently joined in the rumor mill, saying that Mysterio was definitely leaving WWE for AAA. All is mere speculation until a statement is made from either party.
Editor’s Note:
I mean, he’s not doing ANYTHING in the company, they should have never forced his contract extension upon him.
