WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, Triple H, was recently interviewed by ESPN’s “Golic and Wingo,” to help promote the upcoming WrestleMania 36 show this weekend.

You can see the interview in its entirety below:

Triple H began by saying that the world needs entertainment more than anything right now, which is the main reason why the company has decided to go on with the show. They also discussed one of their performers pulling out of the show, due to health and safety concerns, and said that deciding not to participate in WrestleMania 36 would not be held against them. The Game also said that they have taken extreme caution to ensure the safety of the performers, staff, and crew for the event. This includes bringing in talents in waves, screening who enters the Performance Center, wiping things down and cleaning everything to make sure they are compliant with CDC recommendations.

The topic of blowback from the fans was brought up, regarding hosting the event at all. Triple H said that he knew that this would happen, but because they are different from team sports, they are able to adapt and continue to put on shows and entertain the audience. He said that people need something to be a distraction for them, and they hope that WWE can be that distraction.

Triple H then discussed what would be next following WrestleMania. He said that they don’t really know what’s going to happen next, but that they are going to continue to entertain the fans. He said that they may have to alter the format of their weekly shows; some will be live, but some will have to be taped. And while he said that he knows that there will be criticism, people need a distraction and WWE will continue to do so.

WWE didn’t require talent to be tested before their shows, but they are working with CDC recommendations, local officials and authorities, as well as WWE’s own medical staff, to make sure that everyone is as safe as possible. Each person is screened and given a medical diagnosis before entering the building, and if they pass, they are given a band, which allows them to enter.
